Process-
Each ring is hand-carved out of wax. This is my favorite ring to carve, as it begins to take on an organic shape based on its size and width. While each ring is similar, not one is the same. It is then cast into metal and finished with multiple rounds of sanding and polishing.
Inspiration-
I took on bouldering shortly after my father passed away. Feeling broken, while practicing a sport that challenged my physical strength felt like a wild juxtaposition to navigate. Over time, as I gained the physical strength I never knew I had, my mental strength improved, reminding me that maybe it had been there all along. I made this ring to remind myself of how strong I am.
